Kathryn Lewis

Kathryn Lewis, (aka) Lu was born on March 7, 1956, in Spokane, Washington, to Will and Jessie B Lewis. Kathryn was the fourth oldest child and the oldest sister of seven siblings; four brothers, George, Michael, Gary, Anthony, two sisters, Theresa and De-Etta. Both parents and two siblings preceded her in death.

Kathryn also known as, Lu, Kat, and Kathy attended Edison Elementary School and Libby Jr. High on the Eastside of Spokane, WA. She graduated from Meridian High School in Meridian, Mississippi. Kathy also attended Spokane Community College and graduated from Kinman Business College.

In Kathy’s early years she worked at East Central Community Center. Kathy is known as a legend on the Eastside of Spokane. After working for the E.C.C.C. she was blessed with an opportunity to work for the City of Spokane. Starting out as a Clerk and then she was blessed with another opportunity and moved up to the Probation department when it was established, where Kathy worked for 30 years before retiring in April 2022.

Kat was born and raised in the church and has always been a member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ. She was a Tenor in the choir and is still known as the “Tambourine Queen”. Kathy loved being a part of the Holy Temple Team.

Still here to cherish her memories are her two sons Ramon and Jovan Canton of Spokane, WA, brothers George Lewis of Tukwila, WA, Anthony Lewis of Pasco, WA, Theresa Wilson and De-Etta Lewis both of Spokane, WA, grandchildren Marcus, Jalen, Marissa, Ramon Jr., Akyra, Joy, Colin, Darrius, Icesis, great grandchildren Jalen Jr., Marcus Jr., Calvin, and lots of bonus grandbabies, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and her Holy Temple Church Family whom she loved dearly. “We love you more and forever Lu!”

A viewing will begin at 11:00 am, followed by funeral services at 12:00 pm, Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
