With heavy hearts we are sharing the news of Lawrence (Larry) Gundrum’s passing at the age of 78. Larry is leaving this earth after a life well lived. Larry was a graduate of Elder High School and the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He enjoyed a successful career with General Electric where he managed several large Military jet engine and cockpit instrumentation programs which supported the B-1b Bomber and the V-22 Osprey.
He loved and was loved by his children; Lawrence Gundrum Jr. his wife Sophia, Time Gundrum, his wife Molly Wellman, and Kellie Gundrum as well as Larry’s Partner Randi Wasik. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lauren Gundrum, Carly Gundrum and her husband Tom Foy, Christopher Gundrum and Lulani Grace Kellie Gundrum.
Larry had a life filled with family and adventure and lived across many states, including OH, MA, NC and most recently WA. He loved his farm property in Rowley, MA and had a deep devotion and love for all animals. He grew up in Cincinnati and always considered the Queen City his home. He loved Cincinnati food including Cincinnati Chili, Coney’s and White Castle Hamburgers. As a college student he worked at Findlay Market as a butcher. He loved martini’s and olives. He is predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Jane, his brothers Stephen and James. He is survived by his brothers Gary and Ronald.
He will be honored in a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church in Cincinnati on July 30 at 10:30am and will be interred at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Cincinnati.
