Lois Patricia Erickson

Lois Patricia Erickson (Pat) died peacefully in her home in Spokane Washington surrounded by her four children. She was 88.

Pat, was born on March 16th, 1929 in Yakima, Washington. She was the second child of Irving Phillip Mahre and Ruth Audree Mahre. Pat spent her youth on the family’s apple Orchard in

Yakima’s West Valley working the farm chores along with her siblings to support the ranch. Pat attended Grade School at Willow Lawn, West Yakima Valley and Highland High School in

Cowiche, Washington graduating in 1946. After high school she attended Business college in Seattle. During this time, Pat met and married Robert Allen Erickson in 1950. Bob’s work took

them from Yakima to Seattle for a short time then they settled in the Spokane Valley in 1958. The couple had four children. Pat was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish. A member of the church Alter Society and Garden Club. She served as the St. Mary’s Rectory secretary for a number of years and her children attended school there. In 2007 after many decades as a Spokane Valley resident Pat moved to Rockwood South Retirement Community where she was involved in the Care Committee and activities such as bridge and bingo.

Pat’s enthusiasm to serve and give to others was evident throughout her life. Her generosity and kindness touched a multitude - all those that were blessed to be in her

circle of affection. Her resilience and salt of the earth wisdom was a gift to access and learn from and created a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Pat was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, gardener, seamstress, athlete and had the pioneering attitude of hard work and perseverance. That pioneering

attitude was an inspiration to all that knew her during her life. She is greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Pat was predeceased by her husband Robert Allen Erickson, her brother Dave Mahre, and sister Francis Virginna Mahre.

Pat is survived by: Brothers Tim Mahre, Jack Mahre, Bill Mahre and sisters, Sally Atterberry and Peggy Urlacher; Daughters, Linda Erickson, Victoria Miller, Debbie Lax and son Rob Erickson; Eight grand children and six great grand children.

A Memorial Mass will be held: Friday October 20, 2017 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Immaculate Heart Retreat Center 6910 S. Ben Burr Rd. Spokane, WA 99223.
