M. Louise McKenzie, age 91, passed away on September 23, 2017 in Spokane, WA. Louise was born in Hazelton, Idaho on April 9, 1926 to Willet and Reathel Whittekiend.  Louise married Clyde McKenzie on March 29, 1946 and they began farming and starting their family.  In 1956, Louise, Clyde and their children moved to Spokane, WA. Their family grew in Spokane, and some of their family members also moved to the area.  Louise had a love of music, and she would play the drums and sing with Clyde, as they performed at many events in Spokane and Idaho. Louise was passionate about her family and also the many close and lifelong friends they had in Spokane.  She worked in child care centers after her children were raised, and also worked full time in the family business until retiring. She volunteered at voting booths before mail-in balloting, and organized prayer circles. Louise is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clyde McKenzie, her granddaughter Kami Lynn Impecoven, and daughter-in-law Lynn, and three brothers, Larry, Forrest and Wayne, and sister Lucille.  Louise is survived by her six children, David McKenzie; Jon (Val) McKenzie; Bonnie (Joe) Crockett; Margie (Kim) Impecoven; Scott McKenzie; Edi (Bryon) Dirkes; brothers Alan, Jay, Ken, Jim, Rob, and sister Patricia, as well as 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.  Memorial donations may be made to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, 1004 E 8th Ave, Spokane, WA  99202 or to Hospice of Spokane PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA  99210. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 1PM in the chapel at the Pines Cemetery in the Spokane Valley.
