Marcea Ann Vomaske-Foss

Marcea Ann Vomaske-Foss, 88, of Spokane, passed away on Sunday, 10/28/2018 at Avalon Care Center. Marcea was born on 11/26/1929 in Spokane to Ivan and Anna (Herboth) Bumgarner. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in 1948. Marcea had a long-term friendship with her neighbor Raymond Vomaske, they married on May 20, 1950. Raymond worked for the Spokane Chronical until his death in 1988. Marcea worked as a homemaker until 1960 when she went to work for her father, Ivan, at his optometry clinic as a receptionist. After Ivan retired Marcea continued working as a receptionist for several optometrists in the area until she retired in 1995. She met Melvin Foss and they married in 1990 Melvin passed in 2004. Marcea enjoyed sewing especially clothing. Many friends where the recipient of her creations. She was also an avid gardener and will be remembered for her beautiful flowers. Marcea liked to swim especially in warm water; this led to many trips with her husband to Tahiti. Marcea was preceded in death by her parents and her husband’s Raymond and Melvin. Her daughter Patricia (Ralph) Egan, 2 stepsons Fred (Candee) and Joseph (Laura) Foss and four brothers survive her: Robert, John, Richard and Thomas Bumgarner. Visitation and reception will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home on Division on Friday 11/2 from 4:00 until 6:30. Funeral services will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home at 11:30 AM on Saturday 11/3.
