Mary Alice (Vonderahe) Hunt was the youngest of six children born to Herman and Anna Vonderahe in November 1927 in Salisbury, MO. After high school, she attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO.  While working as a secretary in Kansas City, MO she met her husband, Richard Hunt. They were married on Feb. 14, 1949 and were married for 68 years.

In 1955 Richard and Mary moved to Spokane where they raised their 3 children. Mary worked as a secretary for many years, retiring in 1980 from the Byrne Machinery Company.  She was very active in her church, St. Francis Xavier, running the church’s food bank, serving with the Alter Society, and leading the weekly rosary for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, gardening and sewing, making hundreds of baby quilts and blankets for charities.

The two most important things in Mary’s life were her family and her faith.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Richard and is survived by her three children. Kathy (Gary) Nine Mile Falls, Anita (Pat) Bonney Lake and Michael Hunt of Spokane. She had 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

 A private burial service was held at Holy Cross cemetery on June 9th and a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday June 24th at 11 am in the chapel at St. Thomas More Church.
