Mary Jo Dillingham

Mary Jo Dillingham, 84, of Spokane, passed away October 10, 2021 at Sacred Heart Medical Center after a non-Covid related illness.

Mary Jo was born to the late Freal & Maryanne McBride, April 13, 1937 in Havre Montana.  She spent her early childhood on the Blackfoot Reservation, later moving with her family to Missoula, MT, where she graduated from high school.  She earned a BA in Laboratory Science from the University of Montana.  She completed her residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Spokane and went on to work there for most of her career.

She met the late Richard Dillingham on a blind date and they were married in Missoula in 1959. They lived for a short time in Western Washington and then settled in Spokane and raised a family there.  Mary Jo is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Dillingham-Diskin, and a son Michael Dillingham and his wife Liliana.  She is also survived by two granddaughters, Jessica & Kaylee.  Mary Jo was predeceased by her husband in 2004.  She was also predeceased by brother, JR, & great-grandson, Korbin.

Mary Jo & her husband loved to travel, taking the family on ski trips and on vacations to National Parks across the West.  She also travelled overseas to such places as Egypt, Jordan & Peru to name a few.  She enjoyed food and was an excellent cook, creating a wide variety of foods for her family and friends.  She loved animals and doted on and enjoyed the company of her little dog, Sara.  Mary Jo was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. 

Funeral services have been postponed until Spring/Summer of 2022 when a Celebration of Life will be held.
