Mary Jane Trent Willey

Mary Jane lost her life on June 3rd, 2018 at 10:32 pm in her home, with her family by her side.  She had fought a fierce fight and while it seemed long, it was only for a week.  Mary Jane was born on February 10, 1949 to Keith and Lessie Trent.  She was the youngest of their 4 children. Mary Jane is a long time resident of Spokane and a 1967 graduate of Rogers High School.  Mary Jane worked over 30 years as receptionist for the Department of Ecology.  However, her retirement was short lived, as she spent the last years of her life working part time for Bonded Adjustment. This was a place where she felt at home, where her absence is felt, and where she is loved, and missed.  She will be remembered for many things; being a creative individual, later in life a knitter, an expert gardener, and a lover of the sun.  Though her life was cut short, Mary Jane was a fighter to the very end; a survivor like no other, and a person who loved her family above all else.  She is survived by two daughters; Angela Lynn Francis and Teresa Marie (Kevin) Hall; sisters Sue Haas, Laura (Kenny) Manley; brother Terry (Pat) Trent; grandchildren Alexis Rae Francis, Anthony Scott Guzzo, Avery Keith Francis, Trevor George Guzzo, and Jaxson Roy Hall; and her sweet dog, Sassie Mae.  Hennessey Funeral Home has been entrusted with hosting an end of life celebration on Saturday, June 23rd at 10 AM in their Rose Chapel at 2203 N Division.  A private inurnment will be held later at Greenwood Memorial Terrance.
