She began her nursing career in Portland, Oregon where she met Tom, the love of her life and husband for 53 years, Nadine then shifted her focus from her career to her family. She and Tom moved to Spokane, WA in 1971 where they lived and raised their three children Patrick, Traci, and Jeff.
Nadine, the heartbeat of the family, was a beacon of quiet strength. Her beautiful smile was her trademark. Resilient, intelligent and giving she navigated life with grace. Nadine was hardworking, modest and above all kind. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She created a warm and loving home and was a wonderful cook. Nadine’s greatest achievement in life was undoubtedly the love and care she poured into raising her three children, setting the foundation for a close knit family. She continued this devotion as a grandmother and played a pivotal role to her six grandchildren. They affectionately called her Mimi, she showered them with her warmth and her wisdom. She loved baking Christmas cookies with them.
Nadine faced the difficult diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease yet she navigated it with grace, similar to how she had lived her life. She continued to light up the room with her smile, her sense of humor and the twinkle in her eyes. She transcended the limitations of the disease.
