Nancy Musgrave Whitney was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 26th, 1937 and passed away on February 13th, 2018 in Spokane, Washington. She was a brilliant chief associate assistant, often working with the military. She loved to travel and spent many years overseas. When she returned to the states she drove her VW Bug coast to coast three different times, often in the company of her favorite cat, Euphonius Boots. She is predeceased by her beloved brothers and sister, Franklin G. Routen, Patrick M. Routen and Margaret Douglas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Jean Hopkins of Buffalo Gap, PA, Greg Routen of Mesa, Arizona, Catherine Routen of Spokane, Washington, David Routen of Mesa, Arizona, Caren Bevill of Huntsville, Alabama, and Karl Behrendt of Severn, Maryland. She remains in our memories as the fun aunt, the one who always got us into trouble, and a woman who remained fiercely independent to the end. She will be missed. Her Memorial Service will be at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 North Division Street, Spokane, Washington 99207 on Saturday, April 14th at 10 A.M.
Donations in her memory may be sent to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N Havana St, Spokane, WA 99217.
