Patricia Ann Mackin passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 31, 2022.
She was born in Metropolis, Illinois on January 27, 1953, the first daughter of Mac and Vivian Mackin.
She attended Marycliff High School and Eastern Washington University.
She was a professional nanny/governess for 20 years and was influential in the families of Steven Spielberg, Tom Selleck, Amy Irving, and Lindsay Wagner, among others.
During that time, she also worked in the movie industry as a make-up artist.
Having never married, she decided to adopt her daughter Lili, then moved back to Spokane to raise her.
While raising her daughter, her faith became a central part of her life and she became an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her faith led her to do mission work in Thailand, Albania, and Tanzania.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She never forgot a birthday, always showering cards and gifts on her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Lili Michele Mackin, her brothers, Joseph Mackin (Bonnie), Raymond Mackin (Marisa), Stanley Mackin (Carolyn), Mark Mackin (Patti), Shawn Mackin (Esmeralda), her sisters, Debra McCall (LeRoy), Janet Charlton (Mark), and 23 loved nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
She had a generous nature and was always putting other’s needs before her own. Her diligent study of the Bible led to a dedicated life in her faith and in Jesus Christ as her savior. She will be dearly missed and leaves behind many broken hearts.
Her memorial service will be at 6:30 on Tuesday, June 7th, at Spokane North View SDA Church. 12405 N. Wilson St., Mead, Washington.
