Patricia Louise Shanks

Patricia (Pat) Louise Shanks our beloved sister and aunt passed away peacefully in Spokane, Washington. Pat was born in Spokane, to Louis and Hazel Shanks and grew up as a member of the of St. Aloysius Catholic Church community. Pat graduated from Holy Names Academy before attending Holy Names College, then earning her Masters from Gonzaga University. Pat worked as a teacher for many years and was a master gardener. Pat had a passion for her faith, family, friends, and outdoor activities including her beloved gardening. Pat volunteered countless hours to the church and other charities she supported. In her free time, Pat loved skiing with her brothers, nieces, and nephews at Mt. Spokane and going to Priest Lake with family. Pat is survived by her brother, Dr. William Shanks, sister-in-law Joan DeCaro Shanks, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael Shanks (Joan), brother John Shanks, sister-in-law Dr. Lois Ryan Shanks (William), and nephew Mark Shanks (William and Lois). Pat would appreciate any memorial contributions in her name to Catholic Charities of Spokane, 12 E. 5th Ave., Spokane, WA 99202. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 29th, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, in Spokane, Washington. Following the services, inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
