Peter T Miller

Peter Thomas Miller, born Spokane, WA, December 19, 1989; died Spokane, WA, May 13, 2021.

Peter, known to many as “Primo Pete,” was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School and attended Eastern Washington State University.  He was a kind and considerate person with a heart of gold, and even as a young child he was referred to as “an old soul.”  He loved working with children.  Some of his favorite memories were being both a camper and a camp counselor at the Episcopal Camp Cross on Lake Coeur d’Alene.  Peter cherished his own nieces and nephews:  Asher, Petra, Antoni, Charlotte and Zoey.  Two other children important in his life were Violet and Thomas.

Peter had many interests, and while he worked primarily in the hospitality industry, he enjoyed snowboarding on Schweitzer Mountain, being at the family cabin on Garfield Bay, Idaho, and was a landscaper, cooking savant and proficient photographer.

Peter spent the last year living on “The Big Island of Hawaii,” but returned home when he received the diagnosis of acute leukemia little more than a month ago, and passed away with his family at his side.

Peter is pre-deceased by his grandparents, Dr. Howard A. Shane and Mary Evelyn Mason Shane, and Robert L. Miller and Janice Loschen Miller.  He is survived by his parents, J. Scott Miller and Susan Shane Miller; siblings Ashley Miller (Jordan More), Graham Miller (Rochelle LeMieux-Miller), Kimberly Cady (Tanner Cady); and his nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin, extended family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at Peter’s church where he served as an acolyte for many years, The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist,  Saturday, June 5, 2021,   A reception will follow at the family home.  Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would certainly be appreciated.
