Raymond Leverne Foss passed-away in his sleep on September 11, 2021. He was 100 years old. Ray was born to John Obert Foss and Martha Foss on September 2,1921 in Glendive Montana. Ray graduated from Park County High School of Livingston Montana in 1939. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 5th 1942 in Missoula Montana as an Admin & Tech Clerk. Ray received the following decorations and citations while enlisted. American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Victory Medal. Ray received an Honorable Discharge from the US Army at the Separation Center at Fort Lewis Washington on December 22nd 1945. After the US Army Ray worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad until his retirement. In his spare time, Ray loved going dancing and to family dinners. Traveling was also a favorite of his. The main destinations were Alaska and Hawaii. Closer to home Ray frequented the local casinos and their buffets. He enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and any kind of crepes as long as there was whipped cream and pretty much anything chocolate for dessert.
Ray is proceeded in death by his parents, wife Lucille Foss and longtime dance partner Doris Johnson.
Public visitation is Friday September 24th from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Hennessey Funeral Home, N. 2203 Division. Funeral services are on Saturday September 25th at 1:00pm also at Hennessey Funeral home. Interment is Tuesday September 28th at 12:30pm at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way, Serenity Crypt.
