Robert (Rob) Strope, a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to many passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 3, 2018. Rob, with his deep, booming voice, lit up rooms with his quick wit and (sometimes inappropriate) jokes. He was a friend to many and was the first to respond when someone needed help. To say he loved dogs would be an understatement – wherever he went, dogs immediately found a best friend in him. He enjoyed fishing with a passion and was an excellent pool player. Rob was spontaneous and embraced life, reminding those around him to do the same.
Rob was born March 1, 1964 in Spokane to Oscar & Gwen Strope and grew up in Kennewick. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Weber, daughter Sydney (Philippe) Boutros, parents Oscar & Gwen Strope, siblings Vicki (Jeff) Myler, Tim Strope, David (Judy) Strope and Virginia (Pete) Couperus, numerous nieces and nephews and his two beloved dogs, Maggie & Abby.
A celebration of Rob’s life will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N Division, Spokane, WA on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11 am. Visitation will begin before the service starting at 9 am. A reception at the Funeral Home will immediately follow the service. Following the reception, internment will be held at 1 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N Wall Street, Spokane.
Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N Havana St, Spokane, WA 99217.
