Ronald Alan Bashaw

Alan Bashaw passed away April 1, 2021.  Alan was born in Moscow, Idaho April 21, 1964.  He graduated from Moscow High School May, 1983, having lettered in track and field, football, and basketball.  In 1983 he moved to Coeur D’Alene, Idaho with his family, where he attended North Idaho College, graduating with a 2-year degree.  Alan then attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa Idaho and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication in 1987.

After college, Alan worked in Yakima, WA and Idaho Falls, ID in the Administration of Housing for the Department of Health and Welfare. He then moved to Spokane, WA and worked in radio broadcasting, and social services for Developmentally Disabled persons.

It was in Spokane where he met his wife to be Sherry Williams.  They were married April 15, 2000 and have two children, Kendall, 17 and Libby, 14.  Kendall and Libby were the heart and soul of Alan’s life from the day they were born.

Alan is survived by:  his wife Sherry, children Kendall and Libby, parents Ronald and Victoria Winkler, brothers Jeremy and Chris Winkler, sisters Sheila Winkler and Amelia Winkler-Schmall, and niece Liesel Winkler.

A viewing will be held April 20, 2021 from 1 to 4 pm at Hennessey Funeral Home, and a funeral service on April 21, 2021 at 11:00am.   The family is requesting, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alan’s children’s education fund at Spokane Teachers Credit Union.

Alan will be missed by his family and friends every day.
