Susan Martha Kim

Susan Martha Kim (1967-2019) passed away November 9, 2019 alongside her family and loved ones in Spokane, WA. Born in Beaverton, OR, Susan found her way to Spokane and called this city home for the majority of her life. She graduated from University High School in 1985 and then from Whitworth College in 1989. While at Whitworth, she took a stained glass course from “Spike” Grosvenor and fell in love with the craft. Spike became a lifelong friend and mentor for Susan. She opened her own studio called Reflections Stained Glass in Spokane Valley. An incredible artist, Susan’s legacy and work in Spokane will be felt for generations to come. From the Davenport Hotels, to the restoration of The Fox, to countless churches across Eastern Washington, and even more residential homes, she lives on through her art and family. She is survived by her two sons, Nicholas Ponting and Thomas Kim, her two siblings, David Ponting and Heather Connors, and her many friends. Susan’s family and friends will honor and commemorate her life on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 3pm at the Millwood Community Presbyterian Church, where all will be surrounded by some of her work (3223 N Marguerite Rd, Millwood, WA 99212).
