Thomas Lloyd Young

Thomas “Tom” Lloyd Young, passed away peacefully  on May 16, 2022.  Tom was born on December 17, 1939 in Peoria, IL, where he lived until the family moved to Spokane in 1946.

Spokane was home until after High School when Tom entered the US Army where he served as a cook at Fort Polk , LA, working his way up to  serve as an Executive Chef to the General.  When he was honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to Spokane and his family.  He then went on to work at Kaiser Aluminum for close to 40 years.

Tom was predeceased by his parents; Gernie and Cesia Young and two sisters,; Margaret McCoy and Barbara Siers.  He is survived by his sister; Jeanette Lawson, numerous nieces, nephews and their families.  Anyone who knew Tom was touched by his kindness and gentle temperament.  He was known for his friendliness and he never hesitated to let people know he loved them.  Tom was passionate about his Catholic faith and was a loyal member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

He will forever be in our hearts and missed very much.  It was Tom’s wish that in lieu of flowers and should you desire, any memorial contributions can be made to the House of Charity.
