Vincent John Lies

Vincent J. Lies passed away on June 2, 2021.  He was born on Oct. 9, 1938, the 4th of six boys to Peter J and Helen Lies in Douglas, ND. He was raised on a farm where he learned the value of hard work from an early age. 

He graduated from Douglas High School in 1956, after which he worked various jobs in construction.  He met, and one year later Married Donna Haugen on Nov.15, 1958.

Soon after they wed, they move to Sandpoint, ID. where Vince worked in the grocery business until 1968.  From there they moved to Spokane, WA. where Vince ran a Texaco Service Station. He retired in 1991. While retired he worked with and helped his children on various construction jobs.  He was always willing and happy to help anyone else who might need it.  He was an extraordinary man; he didn't require much to make him happy.  God and family were his inspiration to succeed in all he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Son, Ronald in Oct. of 2020, and most recently his Oldest Brother Michael in March.  

Vince is survived by his wife Donna, Children, Larry (Nancy), Lisa (Paul) Schutz, Laura (Jim) Sherrington.  Daughter-In Law, Joan Lies, Grandchildren, Tarah, Steffany, Alex, and Alyshah. Great Grandchildren, Alicia, Allyson, Kayle, Michael, Liam, Samuel, Wesson, Merida, and Blayklee. 

Also surviving four brothers, Peter (Joy), Daniel (Gloria), Howard (Phyllis), and Bernard.   

Vince was a member of Lady of Lourdes Cathedral. At His request no service will be held.

Memorials may be given to Lady of Lourdes or any charity of choice.
