Vi Chavez (nee Mischke), 94, of Medical Lake, WA, passed away October 31, 2019 in Spokane, WA. She was born in Derby, Michigan, on Sunday, March 1, 1925, to Reinhold and Minnie Mischke. She was married to Arthur E. Chavez on October 4, 1952 in Michigan. Together they raised five children and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Art and Vi were excellent dancers. Vi was an avid gardener, card player, and sports fan, particularly of the San Francisco Giants. She attended all sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She was known as ‘Grandma’ by many. She was preceded in passing by her husband Art, her parents, her siblings – Martin, Alma, Chester, and Irwin, her daughter in-law Jocelyn, and her grandson Kevin. She is survived by her five children – Mark, Cynthia and husband George, Scott and wife Deb, Jeanna and husband Greg, and Bonita, 18 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Vi will be remembered for her great love for the Lord, her family, and friends. Gifts in memory of Vi can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Medical Lake, WA. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 9, 2019, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 223 S Hallett St, Medical Lake, Washington.
