Vyonda L Cunningham

Vyonda Lee Cunningham was born February 8th, 1939, in Spokane, WA to Jake and Eva Stickelmeyer passed away September 17th in the home that she loved and lived in for 57 years, she was 82. She was married to Ted Cunningham Sept. 5th, 1964, the same year they bought the house where they stayed lovingly married for 53 yrs.   

Vyonda loved gardening, she always had the best tomato plants with an abundance of tomatoes because she listened to her favorite Gardner Phyllis from Krem 2 news. She planted other vegetable as well and loved when her grand kids would stop by to help her tend to the garden, and yes, eat the tomatoes. For many years Vyonda loved camping with her friends and family at Porcupine Bay on Lake Roosevelt. After retirement Vyonda and Ted spent many winters in Yuma, AZ enjoying the warm weather, spending time in Reno her favorite Biggest Little City in the world. She and Ted were members of the Eagles Area 2 for many years.  She played bingo on Mondays and worked there for several years.  She also enjoyed bowling at Diamond bowl and Lilac Lanes.

She will truly be missed by her family. Words cannot express how grateful the family is for the exceptional care her granddaughter Jenni Hays gave to her grandma.

Vyonda is lovingly remembered and survived by her son Brent Cunningham his wife Laurie, Daughter Robin Jacobs; Sister Darlene Humphreys grandchildren Shawn Lindley his wife Sharo, Jenni, Paul, great grandchildren Alexa, Shawn, Kerrianna, Haylee Ray, great, great grandchild Maximilian and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing will be Monday October 4, 2021  from 4-8PM at

Hennessey Funeral Homes at 2203 N. Division St. Spokane, WA 99207

Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct 5th at 2:00pm. Fairmont Memorial, Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. Burial will be following the service at Fairmont Memorial Cemetery.
