William Hershal Crutcher, Jr. (Bill), age 93, of Spokane Washington passed away August 20, 2021, at Rockwood South Hill in Spokane. Bill was born in Pine City, Washington. After spending his youth on his family’s farm and marrying his high school sweetheart, Evelyn, he went to Eastern Washington University. His education was interupted by his enlistment and 4 years of service in the United States Air Force. Upon discharge he returned to Eastern Washington University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting. After graduation he went to work for Van Waters and Rogers in agricultural sales. His work took him from Spokane to San Francisco and then to Indianapolis, retiring after 36 years as a Vice President. After retirement he volunteered his time and skills helping others with their tax returns.

Bill’s athletic interests included competitive basketball in high school to games of HORSE, Ping Pong or teaching golf with his children or grandchildren. He enjoyed family camping trips, water skiing and snow skiing. He and his wife, Evelyn, had a passion for golf. They spent as much time as possible on the golf course as members of Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indiana and Manito Golf and Country Club in Spokane. They were active in the Presbyterian Church, most recently Hamblen Park Presbyterian. Other interests included card games like Bridge, reading and travel. Their favorites included a trip to Scandinavia and and many trips to Maui. Bill was married to his wife, Evelyn, for 71 years.

Bill had a big heart, warm smile, quick wit and an easy going personality. He will be deeply missed and will always have a special place in the hearts and lives of those left behind.

Bill is preceeded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Crutcher and his sister Virginia Angus.

Bill is survived by his wife Evelyn, children Wayne Crutcher and Karen Crutcher, daughter in law Sue Crutcher, grandsons Cameron and Connor Crutcher, brother Dale Crutcher and sister Darlene Caviness and as well as many nieces and nephews.

Due to the risks of the Covid-19 virus a memorial service has been postponed to a yet to be determined date.
