Ann Passed away peacefully October 27th, 2017. She was born to Edward and Sophie Vollmer on October 17th, 1935 in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband (William J. Spilker), and oldest son (Billy Spilker). Ann is survived by her remaining children: Joseph, Walter, Michelle Shawn, Donald, Mary, Edward and Helen Doherty; grand-children Ben, Sophie, Alex, Sadie, Nathan, Geoffel, Joanna, Emma, Sylvie and Megan. She is also survived by her brother, Ernest Vollmer and sister, Rita Wetzler. Ann was a beloved teacher, fantastic orator and the central connection point for her family. Not only could she relay the full historical details of her family, but she was always there to keep members up to date. Ann valued education, serving her community as an educator of children, including those with special needs. In her mid 40's, after raising her 8 kids and surviving breast cancer, she earned her Master's degree to expand her service in the education of others. Ann was wonderfully creative in the many ways she met the needs of her eight children and numerous grandchildren. Her adventurous recipes will always be remembered; as will the scrumptious dinner rolls that she perfected and will be missed with her passing. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and always had a fresh deck ready for a quick game in her spare time. Ann was generous to all those she met and quickly gave of what she had to anyone else in need. Ann will be missed dearly by her family and friends. A rosary service will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home2203 N Division St. on Friday November 3rd at 6:00 pm.
