We were so sorry to hear of Don's passing -- he was such a wonderful man. Mom and I were remembering when I was very young and used to play over at Don & Rita's all of the time. I remember lots of good times at your house as does Mom. Don was such a devoted father and husband and such a gentle presence. I loved running into him and Rita occasionally at the grocery store and catching up with the two of them. They were so proud of their children and grandchildren -- and they had reason to be! Just know Mon and I think about all of you often, and we love running into those of you still in town when we are out and about. Our most heartfelt condolences and prayers are with you. We are so sorry for your loss. Love and prayers to all of you.

Rita I am so sorry to hear of Don,s death. It is hard for you and your whole family but I can't help being jealous of the reception he will have had in heaven with such a resume! We will miss him at morning mass but he will be in all our prayers.

Dear Don. Thank you for Rita and your family, especially those I knew and grew with, your work for community and church, your support and encouragement of me, and my family, the example you lived, the legacy you leave, thank you. Very few have influenced me as long as you. Thank you. As we celebrate you and your life it is with heavy heart that we say farewell. Bon voyage. Say hello to Dad for me.

Dear Rita & family, Frank & I wish to let you know how welcoming you have always made us feel. Don always had a smile on his face for us even when he told us "his undercarriage was starting to fail." We loved visiting and laughing with both of you.
Love, Frank & Alice Carroll

Don gave me, and so many more, the opportunity to succeed in business. His agency, Wessels & Associates epitomized the launchpad of creative advertising. I will always hold Don and Rita close to my heart for helping me become a professional. We grew as an agency because Don had the acumen to create incentive programs to grow the firm. He kept us all working there with encouragement, praise, and an occasional challenge to "meet on the handball court." Yes Don, we secretly called you "the silver haired fastback" with all the love of employees who knew they had a far better thing than deserved. You helped us all. (Thank you.) Personally, ...I owe you that handball game. Keep that arm swinging. Hopefully I'll see you up there some day.

Glen Willow owes Don much! He was board President and turned our little village into a finely run business. His business acumen helped us create a budget process that will carry each Board forward for many years to come. He instituted Committees and chairs that help make Glen Willow a fabulous place to live. We will miss seeing him walking around the complex with Rita on his arm. As well, I will miss our summer talks in his garage with gin and tonics and his cigars! Our sincerest sympathy to all the family!
