Dr. Janice Anne Kay, Ph.D

Janice was born on September 23, 1939 in Portsmouth, VA to Bernard & Dorothy Kassell.  She was highly educated earning a B.S. studying at the University of Maryland, a M.A. from Holy Names College in Oakland, CA and a Ph.D. at Pacific Western University in Honolulu, HI.  Janice has her teaching credentials in Colorado for Post Secondary and Adult education.  She was an Adjunct Faculty member at the Metropolitan State College of Denver.  As this wasn’t enough, Janice was the owner of Front Range Driving School which taught driving to teens, adults and people with disabilities. She also taught computer classes in a university setting as well as management classes.  Janice trained trainers and subject matter experts.  Her employers included Northrop Corporation, Hughes Aircraft, K-Graphics as well as being self-employed.  Janice was an award winning fiber artist.  She had an undergraduate degree in Fashion Design from the University of Maryland.  Janice began knitting at the age of 8 while in the Brownies.  Her work was shown in Colorado at the Muse Gallery in Longmont, The Foothills Art Museum in Golden, the Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins and many other locations in the Front Range.  Her creations were one of a kind designs.  Janice grew up in a military family traveling the world. Her father was a Navy Commander serving in Casablanca, Morocco while Janice was growing up.  She is survived by her husband Myron Eugene Timmons II.
