So sorry to hear of my "Zaagman" is gone. I so remember and hold dear to me some of the sayings he once had. I worked with Sam since May, 1980 as an clerk at the VA Spokane. . I so enjoyed those sayings..."Shame on you and the horse you rode in on", every birthday card always had a "Sam" "SLAP" Put your face up to this card.. Now that!! That!! It was a sign of friendship. I saw him every so often once I left the VA. I love the stories of his first grandchild I believe, he called him "Pooper" Now rest my friend, and to you Jenny & family -a hug for loving a great man. I will never forget SAM.

Rest in Peace, Sam. You were a phenomenal classmate, a great dancer, and I have fond memories of you returning for a class reunion and sharing a meal at the Canary Inn. My condolences to your family and friends. A great man is now with the angels. May your memories and gifts and talents of Sam's fill you up.

I knew Sam from working with him at the VA. Although we worked in different areas we frequently crossed paths and, even after we both retired, we would still run across each other from time to time in different stores. I always enjoyed visiting with him and learning of his next adventure. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Matthew 5:4

My life is truly blessed having known and loved Uncle Sam. He taught me many things over the years. His questioning attitude, humor and love for Christ and Family were an inspiration. Rest In Peace dear uncle- until we meet again. - Sherry
