Donna and Kevin
I was profoundly saddened when I saw your son's obit in the paper. Our son Nicholas was at Prep with Paul and said what a wonderful man he was. Praying for your family at this time. So so sorry Donna.

Dear Sweeny Family,
We've never met, but Paul was a good friend in NY. I last saw him at Mike Homer's wedding in CA a few years ago. He was as cheerful and engaging as ever, even despite all of the things he was going through. I guess that's just the type of guy Paul was. We should all use his grace and kind spirit as inspiration and motivation for how to be more positive within our own lives.
I am terribly sorry for your loss.
With sympathy and prayers,
James Wolcott

I went to Prep with Paul. He was a great guy. My heart goes out to his family. I know they are very proud of the man they raised. One of the nicest guys I have been around. You were one of the best in the Class of '96.

Dear Donna & Kevin,
I was saddened to read the obit on your son & then to learn you had already lost another son four years ago. My heart aches for you & your family.
Even though I have not seen you in years, my memories of our friendship at St Charles are special (especially swimming in the fountain & getting caught by Msgr. O'Connor!).
I hope you can find strength through friends & family & faith. With my sincerest sympathy, I send my prayers.

I'm very sad to hear of Paul's passing today. My deepest sympathies to the Sweeny family. My friendship with Paul goes back to our Santa Clara days, and I'll always remember him as an energetic, welcoming and insightful person with a big smile and infectious sense of humor. At times, Paul would challenge me to be a better person like no friend had done before, and for that I'll always be thankful to him. God bless you, Paul.

Dear Kevin, Donna and Kyle,

So sorry to hear of Paul's passing and of all the suffering you have been through . I remember only the vibrant, handsome and playful young men the few times I saw them at the lake. Know you have been in our thoughts and prayers and we will continue to hold your family up in our prayers, specifically during the rosary and holy hours.

It is with sadness this morning that I learned of Paul's passing on Monday. Paul was a friend and business colleague. I held and re-read the Thank You card I keep in my office from Paul. He thanked me for my guidance and support in his transition back to Spokane and starting his role at Delta Dental of Washington. He thanked me, when it was all him! That was Paul. Prayers to the family and Meagan. While I am a widow (my husband died also too soon at age 53) and a Mother, I can't imagine the void you must feel losing your sons. May Peace be With You!!

I only met Paul once when Meg brought him to Maryland to meet the family. What a joy he was and he and Meg were a perfect match! You could feel their love. My heart aches for Meg and Paul's family. God Bless!
