She was ready, we were not…

Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, wife and most of all friend, Adeline (Spinelli) Moulton, passed into the arms of our Lord April 19th, 2017.  We take comfort that she is now with her beloved father, Joseph, mother, Anna, and brother, Frank. Adeline is survived by her sister, Theresa Langlois, and nine children:  Ann Cunningham (Troy), Rial Moulton (Tami), Mike Moulton, Pat Moulton Lincoln (Bob), Don Moulton (Doreen), Terri Fisher (Keith), Frank Moulton (Lorri), Mary Moulton Milionis (Steve), and Tim Moulton.  She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, along with countless friends. Adeline was born September 11, 1924 to Italian immigrants, the second of three children, in Spokane, WA.  The family spoke only Italian until Frank attended grade school and taught Adeline and Theresa English. She attended Edison Grade School, Libby Junior High, Lewis and Clark High School, and graduated as valedictorian of Holy Names College in 1946.  While in school she helped at her family’s fruit and vegetable stand in the Union Square market in downtown Spokane. She went on to teach sixth grade at Dishman Grade School for seven years, enriching the lives of many children.   She married Robert Moulton (deceased in 1994) on July 21, 1951 and had nine children of her own.  Once her children were raised, Adeline went back to work at Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs, helping low income families. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have been touched by Adeline knows her passion for helping others. Adeline was baptized at St. Ann’s Catholic Church and an active member there her entire life.  We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Ann’s Church, 2120 E First Ave. Spokane, WA 99202. Visitation will be Friday, April 28th, from 4pm – 7pm at Hennessey Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 29th at St Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com.
